All week I have been stoked that my old travel partner, Jeff Vonk, has gotten a book published about his life and our travel stories. Today he sent me the cover photo. It’s slightly recognizable. I took that shot of him at the base of Everest, in the midst of an epic 5000 kilometer motorcycle journey across China, Tibet, and Nepal.
You may think it’s similar to my profile pic on this blog—that was the version he took of me.
Ten Pictures to Meet Steve Nagy
Some of you may be coming to my website right now because you just heard my interview on CBC’s Daybreak Alberta. Welcome.
Others may simply be curious about this “PechaKucha” thing I’ve been writing about lately (see the stories below). Welcome, as well.
In either case, you probably have only the slightest idea who I am. Don’t sweat it. I’m not much of a public fixture.
But before I ask you to head over to yycpkn.ideascale.com and click “I Agree” next to my name (Steve Nagy), I’d really like you to get an idea whether I would be appropriate for Calgary Arts Development’s next line-up of PechaKucha speakers. So, to help introduce me to you, I’ve put together something in pure PechaKucha style. Please consider this post a ten-frame picture book of my life; set in many, many places.
Enjoy.
(All photos by Steve Nagy. Except the one of me. It was just taken with my camera.)
